DIY Bedskirt

Here's a simple project that will spruce up your bed in no time!  Seriously, it's only 4 steps.  This was the last project to complete in the bedroom before the big reveal!  I'll have that for you tomorrow.

Step 1 - Decide on your design.  Our design had faux pleats in a different coordinating colour, but you could also do one solid fabric along the sides if you wished!

Step 2 - Creat your faux pleats and place them in the middle of all three sides, and on the corners.  We made ours slightly wider so the striped fabric would overlap it.  Helpful tip: Make the corner ones taller and wider to allow for folding around the corner with no bunching.

Step 3 - Make the longer side panels.

Step 4 - Pin it all on!  If you don't want to use pins, you can also use velcro.  Hint: if you use velcro, put the prickly velcro piece on the boxspring and the fluffy piece on your panel.  That way, if you want to remove the panels to wash them, they won't get stuck on everything in the laundry.

That's all there is to it!

By using a 1 inch hem, it allows the skirt to hang nicely, and it looks more professional! Can't get much easier than that!

Psst - To see the rest of the bedroom projects check out the chair, the wardrobes, the hole and the bench.  To see the final reveal click here.
