Before and After: Old Record Cabinet turned Sheet Music Storage

A few years ago my sister was garbage picking and found this gem at the curbside.

It was in pretty good condition and had some nice detailing on it.  It was super sturdy too.

It had previously held records and had categorized slots for all your music.

She thought it would be great for me to store all of my sheet music in (since I currently had it in paper magazine folders on my closet floor.)  So we took the bad boy home and it sat in our basement for at least 3 years until I had the space to use it.  Well, that time has finally come!  It's going in my den so I thought a nice bright pink would look good with the future blue walls.  I painted it with Behr paint colour matched to Benjamin Moore Peony.

Here he is after!

I kept the inside categories as a nod back to its original retro vibe.  And the best part is, all my sheet music is now in one place!

Not bad for a free piece of furniture!
