How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference

It's a rainy day here today, and I am incredibly stiff from working on my stools again yesterday.  5 straight hours of stripping paint and sanding can do a number on the body!  I'll hopefully be back with an update on them in a few days.

It's hard to believe the two-month mark was just a few days ago from the date I moved in!  I still feel like I just got here!  It's been a while since I posted any updates on the non-diy portions of my place so I thought I'd touch on some of those today.

For those of you that have visited me, you'll know I always advised getting dressed on the floor or in the bathroom...since I had no curtains or blinds on my windows...well no more!!!  Both my bedroom and the den are totally outfitted now!  I love the bedroom curtains with the embroidered flowers and birds.  They match perfectly with my pillows on my bed.  I picked up both pairs on sale from Home Outfitters.

I've also got some art up on the walls in the bedroom and the den.  These prints I've had since I was in university but never had a place to put them up.  They have now found a home in my room!

The styling in the den is not done at all, but it is now sporting an awesome metal piece given to me as a gift from my aunts, cute birds from Hallmark given to me as a gift from my mom last Christmas, and a great flower piece that was taken in my parents' backyard that we had blown up and put on canvas by Posterjack.

The living room has been spruced up with some yellow flowers (to match my lovely, yellow lamp!).

The bathroom finally got a much needed bathmat.  Eventually, I want to paint the bathroom blue, so this will match perfectly.  And it's so soft underfoot!  I also picked up a towel ring with matching toilet paper holder at Walmart.  This glass vase serves double duty as my new toilet paper holder!

While at a local thrift store, on two separate occasions, I picked up these awesome frosted glass bottles/vases (for 99 cents each!).  They're on my kitchen table right now, but they may find a new home at some point.

It's neat how just hanging some stuff on the walls, putting out some accessories, and getting curtains can make a space feel so much homier :)
